Re: Weather

A bit damp this morning but brightened up. Rain forecast for tomorrow/Saturday looks like being no more than a heavy dew. Hellif it ain't dry. You were complaining about it being so wet not so long ago. No pleasing some people. I just want a bit of rain at night. Not much to ask. Any particular tim...

Re: How do the crops look where you are?

Having administered sunshine to about 300ha of OSR this week, I can safely say that crops range from mediocre to worse. Normally I have to use the gift to find the tramlines. This year I can see the ground between plants and the boom has not been at maximum height. If you have OSR unsold, hold on. I...

Re: How do the crops look where you are?

Apparently the rape will get dessicated soon, possibly. Not sure what good it will do when it's pretty much gone off already. Then we'll have to wait 17 days or what ever it says on the bottle by which time everyone else will be on wheat and all of the rape seeds will have fallen on the floor. If y...

Re: Weather

Tractor showed 33 degrees today You need to use it harder. Sprayer was showing between 86 and 95. Then the vicious fan kicked in. You don't need to worry too much about engine operating temperature when you have a Sisu, so I wasn't worried. I suppose you have to watch you temperature gauge like a h...

Re: Weather

Warm. Thunder bugs were out today. Irritating little ffukers. Amazing how dry it is here after 7 inches of rain in June. Irrigators going all over the place. Hoped I'd seen the back of them this year.

Re: How do the crops look where you are?

Raggy was going to spray his OSR off this week. Not because it's ready. He just happened to be at home. :D

Re: How do the crops look where you are?

A week on from the 4 or 5" deluge there is still standing water in many fields, blight spraying is a nerve wracking experience, and all the veg boys are still towing harvesting rigs with the biggest tractors and crawlers they've got :? Blight spraying is a nightmare. Even the dry fields are wet. 20...

Re: Weather

Just got over the 100mm mark for the week ending Friday evening. Surprisingly, the ground is quite travellable . Is travellable a real word??? Indeed it is. I have looked this evening, at potato fields that have been irrigated, then had 125mm of rain. They are travellable. In my opinion. Tomorrow m...
