A very heavy atmosphere.

Sun not breaking through here yet, but it's most oppressive. Turkish-bath-like, or at least what I imagine they're like.

Re: Harvest 2016

had a nibble at some spring barley today but its barely fit ,needs a week and some of it will need 2 weeks Bloody hell, Defender. That seems late even for northern Scotland. Not really Col: if you think back to pre-combine days, harvest often went on into October in Norfolk and Suffolk, and that wa...

Re: Weather

Having just moved 300 metres of electric sheep netting today, the ground is far too dry and hard for my considerable weight to drive a 1/4" sharpened steel spike into grassland - despite 0.9 mm of rain yesterday. It's breezy, but the Met Office severe weather warning for wind is simply ridiculous, a...

Re: Weather

Even we had 8.4mm overnight, so I can well believe it was a bit damp in Wales.

Re: NatWest

Had a letter from NatWest this week with changes to account terms and conditions. Usual stuff apart from, they now reserve the right to charge the customer interest on credit balances! Hmmmm. Better of sticking it under the mattress. They have had negative interest rates in Sweden, and of co...

Re: Weather

Thunderstorms at home yesterday. I saw them coming sitting at the end of the house with a glass in hand, along with Damson who had a tennis ball in mouth (when I wasn't throwing it). It was like the Red Sea parting for the Israelites: thunder and lightning to the left, thunder and lightning to the r...

Re: Harvest 2016

W barley locally seems to be doing 6 t/ha at 13 or 14% moisture. Specific weights about 59 kg/hl and high screenings. Not good at all. I think it's a bit better than that here, but we're on very heavy clay, and it's certainly not wonderful. My immediate neighbour (whose farm completely surrounds my...

Re: Harvest 2016

The winter barley adjoining us should be combined tomorrow (i.e. Sunday 16th). It's been completely brown, including tramlines and under trees, for about 3 weeks.

Re: Windows 10?

I did. Didnt make any difference on my laptop. Aren't they going to start charging for it soon? It did make some difference in the background, although the user interface is virtually unchanged. Now, everthing you do on your laptop is being relayed back to Microsoft, this is part of Windows 10. Ban...

Re: air compressor atlas copco

Got a atlas copco road compressor, it has a 2 cylinder Deutz engine. It is nearly 30 years old and used for blowing down the combine and the balers. The problem is that in will not build presser when pumped in to the air line. When the outlet is shut off, it will build presser quickly but as soon a...

Could easily be, but there were tens of thousands of launches of differening types that look like that, from well over a hundred builders.

Re: 8340 loosing fuel prime

When our 8340 stands around for a couple or three days when the fuel tank is low it looses its prime and wont start and the only way to bleed it is with a full fuel tank. Do the panel know of any obvious areas where the leak might be? It's not leaving puddles on the floor and I wondered if the diap...
