Green Goddess

Post by kipper » Fri Feb 26, 2016 9:12 pm

I have been following this chaps mega build.
He started of with a green goddess fire engine with plans to make it in to a car transporter.
3 years latter and 80 pages he is now rebuilding it, but the quality of his work is very good.

Remember seeing about half a dozen of the Green Goddesses in Ritchie's scrap yard at Coldhams Lane, Cambridge in the 1970's and 80's.

When the old man Ritchie died, there was a 'closed' sale somewhere for all the old vintage stuff he had squirreled away in barns on his site. Ancient Rolls Royce, amongst other gems.

Never had a Green Goddess but I did have an Ex-AFS Bedford RL (same as a Green Goddess but with a dropside body rather than the fire engine body) for carrying the lengths of hose for the Green Goddesses.
6 cyl Bedford petrol engine, purred like a kitten.
It's a lovely day
