Bright and breezy day. Not cold at all. What a difference to yesterday, when it pissed down most of the day.

A beautiful early autumn morning here. Sun shining, but a slight nip in the air.

A foretaste of what is to come.

Beautiful autumnal day again today.

The last day of August. Where did that go? Come to think of it, where has the year gone??

Officially into Autumn tomorrow. 'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness'. It's a sweet, sad time speaking personally. Wonderful colours, incredible sunsets, and the smell of freshly tilled earth evoke many happy memories for me.

I suppose the downside is that Autumn inevitably leads to Winter, which I don't particularly like - well, put it this way: I enjoy all the seasons, but I like Winter the least.

But then, 'If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?'

Proper 1st day of Autumn, pretty thick mist on way to work, sun out as forecast predicted at 8:30 quickly burning it all off and then clear blue sky & 26c until 1pm- twice as long as the forecasters predicted. Pretty hot still in the sun though.

Could be a lot of worried OSR growers wanting rain to keep things alive, best seen today near andover was a thick mat of rape plants, leaves well past 50p size. Could be a fortnight or more dry if they are right.

Better rub it in that the forecasters were out later on, 2hrs into the cloud..............it all cleared for a perfect clear blue sky and a beautiful afternoon/evening...........!
