Over a decade ago now, The Pretender Farms PLC set up a livery yard. Each year I think I have seen it all and each year some new pearl of wisdom leaves me :o , open jawed and a few steps back in amazement have to be taken. This year I saw what I thought was women on hands and knees pulling small ragwort plants out of the ground, but on further investigation I was informed that they were pulling mushrooms, not for a nice risotto, but because they give 'osses colic. So good people of FFUK is there even a shred of truth in this or is it all ball cocks.

Also rugs. Buy an animal with a furry coat. Shave of furry coat. Buy a rug to cover animal that is now sans furry coat. I put it to the jury that rugs serve 3 purposes:
1: to give the girlies some other piece of tat to buy

2: to insulate them from the fence, thus making them break the fence quicker

and finally 3: to irritate the horse. I only ever see horse with rugs rolling on the ground.
