I had a text message today from Pilly informing me that he was cutting a neighbours wheat. I did wonder if he was attempting to wind me up. I've seen none done around here. There's still lots of Osr to grab.

And here. Took my boy on a combine hunt after tea. Saw a pair of big Case's finish one field, they'd already cut a 200 acre field next door. Then tracked down a JD 670i, a 9780i, a 690i, and a much smaller one, a claas lesby 600, a 760tt, NH tx66, case7230, and a pair of new holland something or others. One large local farm was still combining winter barley. Flat as a pancake but the straw looked good.

All the above were on wheat or spring barley, apart from the 760tt which was finishing winter barley.

My mates new lesbian 780 was working over at Thorndon (not the North Norfolk one) finished his rape on Saturday on a high note, 1.72 tonne/acre. Farm average down to 1.6tpa this year, down from over 2tonne last year. W barley averaged 3.21tpa, which was not too bad for the year.

First wheat cut was at 14.2% and 77 bushel. Can't remember which variety he said it was.

Stuck our noses into the Spring Barley today. Looks like it will be this years highest margin crop.

Not enough nitrogen or something.

Took the wee lad on my Mates lexion 780 on Saturday. Getting on well, 2nd wheat at around 3.76 tpa. On another farm he'd averaged 4 tpa off 220 acres, previous farm was 3.8tpa off 280 acres. Hadn't started any of their own yet, but they were just about to move into a fair looking crop when we mooched off. They'd got 1 store full to the gunnels, but with a 6m grain dozer on the front of a 9m reach load all, he's managed to get 2000 tonnes into a 1500 tonne grainstore.
They have 2 big bins, each holding 1000 tonnes, and another 4 bins holding 200 tonnes a
Each. All will be full by Wednesday night. He had about 190 acres to go at with no header changes, so should wrap that up by Monday, leaving about 200 to grab before rain on Thursday.....all being well

Getting pretty much wound up around here now. I've seen beans and linseed cut in the last few days.

There are odd bit of wheat left, and some beans, but not much. Rape being set at a fair old lick now.

Some have started to prepare the land for next years wheat.

Seems to be all wound up around here now. Didn't see a single field left to harvest on my drive yesterday.

My brother tells me that there is still a fair bit to do in Lincolnshire, or at least the southern end of it. There are a few odd bits of late sown wheat in the Cambridgeshire fens, and that seems to be about it.

Virtually all done for another year.

Still Wheat Barley Beans and Oats between Lincoln and Grantham,though I should think a few days will see it mostly mopped up.

Well cancel that post. I've been out and about this afternoon, and have driven past a few fields of Barley still awaiting the combine, and one or two wheat fields too. They are covered by the local "Group" who's two 35ft 770 Lesbians should soon grab it. But it might take some drying.

I would say Harvest 2016 is all done in NW Norfolk. Apart from sugar beet, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, cauliflower, cabbage that is.

I would say around Lincoln and above there is at least a week or so of wheat type stuff, then the beans to go at.

So glad I don't have to worry about a combine and harvest this year.
