Sony sent me a link to their approved service centres which was duly clicked on. It great if you have a telly or lap top. Not so good if you have a camera that needs to be repaired. I rang one of the places anyway on the off chance and they don't repair cameras. Sent the dude an email at 2 which would be 3 in Belgium where he is and there has been no reply yet.

Any ideas?

Have you tried a voltmeter on the battery ?
I had a camcorder left among some stuff in a let house that done some similar things ,tried the charger and still didn`t work properly and borrowed a battery from someone else and it works ok
maybe worth a try ,maybe even the charger is knackered
maybe talking bolloks though

Tried that early on and the battery seemed fine. A new battery is 27 quid, which I don't mind paying if I knew it would fix it. Had kind of hoped Sony would say "oh, that's the battery, they do fail now and again, chuck a new on in and it will be fine", but they seem like a bunch of tossers :x

Coincidentally I found an old Sony Cybershot last week. It was dead and I'd lost the charger so I bought another for £3:50 and Robert's your aunty's wossname.
